Digitell Extends the Prolibraires Live Features to Offer Interactive Event Portal for Events, Learning and Certification

Though not officially ‘launched’ but in use by several customers, Digitell has come out with a very nice customizable branded media player that allows you to conduct events, webcasts and training using a simple self-service interface with a very robust optional feature set.

The new platform allows for some basic branding with logo displayed in the header and color choices available out of the box with additional customization available to fit your organization’s look and requirements.

Synchronized PowerPoint slides is a standard features and includes converting slide presentations to high quality JPEG images with a built-in converter.  The host of a session has the ability to change out slides as they go through their presentation.  The new slide is then changed to sync with

the audio or video portion of the session. Multiple PowerPoint decks can be used in each session if multiple speakers are presenting. Live sessions are recorded for on demand playback.

The Prolibraries Live system offers an information panel that is customizable for each session and normally includes the session description, presenters name, picture and bio, but can be completely customized. You can also add in advertising and sponsorship units to help generate revenue or use the continuing education credit functionality.

There are multiple engagement features that can be turned on and off depending on the type of event you are producing including live text chat (allows attendees to chat with each other, technical support and the presenter), question submission (hosts and moderators have a special panel where they can view the questions as they come in with the option of replying to the question repeating it and answering it over the stream or simply typing in a response and clicking submit), polling (polls are submitted by a presenter or moderator and the attendees are alerted that a new poll is available by a popup message), and alertness checks (when an alertness check is issued a small popup comes up over the player that tells the attendee to click on it and if they don’t, they have failed that check and it is noted in the session report).

The system can be configured based on the type of stream for example:

  • Audio only stream – Slides will take up the entire media area of the player
  • Video Only Stream – Video will take up the entire media area of the player
  • Video and Slides – The video is displayed on the left with the slides on the right. Once the session starts each attendee can use a ‘slider’ to dynamically change the size of the video compared to the slides in order to achieve a view to their likening.
Additional features include a resource library to upload related materials that can be downloaded by attendees, presenter notes and attendee notes. Attendee notes provide the ability for attendees to take notes within the player itself without leaving the player. At the end of the session the notes can be emailed to the attendee or posted to their account if the session is being archived.

During a live online session it is sometimes helpful to be able to communicate a message to all attendees in a way that you can be confident that most attendees will read it. Digitell’s message system will allow hosts to send a message, which will then appear as a popup to all attendees (or just selected attendees) in the middle of the player.

For social networking during the event, an optional twitter feed in the player can be made available and can be set to display all tweets to one or multiple hash tags.

Thanks for the write up. We are excited with the response we have received from our recently released 2D player, ProLibraries Live. Our clients all have specific needs, so building it from the ground up provided us greater flexibility than utilizing an out of the box solution. A perfect example of this is our Alert Checker or Note taking features. Clients requested these features and we were able to develop them exactly as the client needed.
Anyway, thanks again for the write up.
Jim
