I think we're 'violently agreeing'... interesting now you mention it that conferences and exhibitions were in large part invented to save travel, time and money in the first place - I guess we are just continuing the trend onto the web.
A 'few' business trips resulting from a bit of online networking is less than a single business trip to a live event though isn't it? I don't disagree with you because I don't think anyone knows - but I do think that at the moment our way of working is such that people need a bit of face to face before completing any high-value transaction, so whether you do that at a live event or at a follow up to an omline event, there is still a plane to catch.
