PCMA Co-Locates The Virtual Edge Summit with 2011 Annual Meeting
PCMA members and attendees can add virtual meetings education with economical and time-sensitive co-location.
Adding value to its already popular Annual Meeting, the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) announced that the 2011 Virtual Edge Summit will be co-located with PCMA's 2011 Annual Meeting - Convening Leaders. Annual Meeting attendees will be able to gain both strategic and tactical knowledge of virtual and hybrid meetings as a result of the economical and time-sensitive co-location.
PCMA's Annual Meeting will be held January 9-12, 2011, and the Virtual Edge Summit will be January 12-13, 2011. Both events will take place at Las Vegas' MGM Grand.
"We at PCMA believe that virtual meetings are not only the wave of the future, but excellent complements to face-to-face meetings," said Deborah Sexton, PCMA President and CEO. "We're dedicated to keeping our members at the forefront of the meetings profession with the education and resources they need to position their meetings and organizations for the future. We're pleased to partner with the Virtual Edge Summit, which is considered the best of the best for virtual meetings education."
The 2011 Virtual Edge Summit will offer a range of educational sessions and workshops specifically designed for meetings professionals, as well as senior level managers, marketing staff, and IT professionals. It will cover strategy as well as "how to", and is appropriate for those new to digital event offerings, in addition to experienced virtual and hybrid event producers.
“Our goal is to have companies and associations ready to move forward as soon as they return from the Summit," said Michael Doyle, Executive Director of the Virtual Edge Institute, which produces the Virtual Edge Summit. "We have a comprehensive education program that deals with issues around planning, funding, marketing, content development, event production, and of course measurement. Our sponsors are also on hand to offer hands-on demos and talk about services available to assist with production.”
Sessions will include: Planning and Funding Your Virtual Event Experience, Using Virtual to Grow Your Physical Events, Measuring the Effectiveness of Virtual Events, Going Hybrid - It's Not as Hard (or Costly) as You Think, Building Your Digital Events Playbook, and Integrating Your Core Event Applications and Vendors.
MGM room rates are only $89 for Wednesday night. Many are expected to stay with special tickets to Las Vegas shows available on Wednesday night making participating in Virtual Edge Summit as convenient and inexpensive as it is valuable.
